Increased demand for computer resources and rising energy costs are shrinking the profitability of companies with large data centers. Energy consumed by data centers doubled between 2000 and 2006 and is expected to double again by 2011.
Improved energy efficiency can increase performance and availability without compromising network security. For example, better cooling distribution can eliminate hotspots and thereby prevent equipment failures.
Energy Trust can help with solutions to:
- Reduce operating costs
- Earn cash incentives of up to $500,000 per year
- Help maintain ideal conditions for equipment, protecting critical data and computing functions
- Enhance reliability and flexibility
- Limit growth in electricity demand and carbon emissions
- Help cool global warming and contribute to a more sustainable future
Energy audits
For larger facilities, we offer comprehensive audits to help you uncover energy-efficiency opportunities in cooling and power infrastructure, as well as IT equipment. Audits provide a professional analysis of the energy impact and cost effectiveness of energy-efficient technologies.
