Heat Pumps

A heat pump is simply an air conditioner that works in reverse during the winter. On hot days, it cools a home by taking heat out of the indoor air and sending it outside. On cold days, the heat pump captures warmth from the outside air and sends it indoors.

Package Terminal Heat Pumps are self-contained units that look like air conditioning units, offer heating and cooling, and only require an electrical connection to operate. These units are less expensive to install than a standard heat pump and take up less room.

Standard Heat Pump:

Upgrade or replace existing non-electric heat with high-efficiency heat pump:

HSPF 8.8, on units 5 tons or greater: $200
HSPF 9.0 or greater, on any size unit: $250

Replace an electric furnace or electric resistance heat
(baseboard or in-wall unit) with high-efficiency heat pump:

HSPF 8.8, on units 5 tons or greater: $400
HSPF 9.0 or greater, on any size unit: $450

Ductless Heat Pump—$600 per outdoor unit
Replace an electric furnace or electric resistance heat (baseboard or in-wall unit) with a ductless heat pump (inverter-driven models only)

Package Terminal Heat Pump—$200
