Bill Bitar and niece Lisa Lucas, owners of the 98 East Building—a Portland office and retail complex—wanted to do something to lighten up their tenants' energy costs. They found the perfect solution in upgrading the building’s lighting, a project that’s estimated to save tenants $48,018 in energy over the next five years. “Our tenants range from health services to retail,” said Bitar, “and they are all benefiting from brighter surroundings and lower energy bills. That’s important to me.”
