Energy Trust of Oregon is an independent nonprofit organization helping people and businesses save energy and money—$1.9 billion to date. The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of Energy Trust. The position reports to a board of directors and is responsible for leading a 100+ staff to fulfill Energy Trust’s mission and achieve strategic and annual goals. The Executive Director works closely with our affiliated utilities and other stakeholders to guide the organization in effectively investing customer funds to deliver cost-effective energy conservation, energy efficiency and small-scale renewable energy generation programs and services.
Representing the organization externally is a core responsibility, with success dependent upon a deep understanding of energy policy, energy efficiency and renewable power, and utilities and their regulation. Successful external interactions are facilitated by open and effective communications skills and the ability to create meaningful opportunities for exchange, input and partnership. The Executive Director will be a steward of customer funds with a focus on program design and delivery that achieve goals, a strong continuous improvement philosophy, demonstrated legal and fiscal compliance, and the ability to adapt and lead through change and challenges.
