Step 1

Establish your eligibility and identify energy-saving opportunities in your home

If your household meets Savings Within Reach income requirements, contact Energy Trust to receive a list of Savings Within Reach participating contractors in your area or request to be contacted directly by a Savings Within Reach participating contractor selected by Energy Trust.

• Unsure what type of improvements you may need? Request a Home Energy Review online, by phone or at your home and learn how to use less energy while making your home more comfortable, healthy and safe. You'll receive a prioritized list of energy-saving opportunities, referrals to local Energy Trust contractors and information on areas in your home that may qualify for Energy Trust incentives.
• Already received a Home Energy Review? If you received a Home Energy Review in the past six months, Energy Trust will provide your Home Energy Review recommendations to your Savings Within Reach participating contractor to help assess your home's needs more quickly.

Step 2

Install energy-efficient home improvements

Prior to beginning improvements, your Savings Within Reach participating contractor will ask you to sign an Income Verification form to confirm your eligibility to participate in the initiative, then examine your home and perform one free diagnostic Blower Door test* to identify the most effective upgrades that can be made. All improvements must be installed by an approved Savings Within Reach participating contractor. You are required to use the participating contractor who provides your Blower Door testing to perform all Savings Within Reach improvements.

Step 3

Sign the incentive form and pay your invoice

After installation, your Savings Within Reach participating contractor will submit your signed incentive application, Income Verification form and the invoices for your energy-efficient improvements to Energy Trust. Incentive amounts must not exceed the cost of your improvement project.

Your Energy Trust incentive will be paid directly to your Savings Within Reach participating contractor, who will deduct the incentive amount from your invoice, reducing your out-of-pocket expense. You are responsible for paying the balance of the invoice.

*A Savings Within Reach participating contractor is required to perform a Blower Door test to single-family homes and duplexes prior to issuing a bid. Blower Door testing is optional for triplexes and fourplexes. One Blower Door test incentive is available per home. The no-charge diagnostic Blower Door test applies only to Savings Within Reach; no other Energy Trust services will qualify.
