Make insulation upgrades in your building and you can enjoy Energy Trust cash incentives while you save energy, reduce heating and cooling costs, decrease outside noise and create a more comfortable environment for your employees and customers.

Energy Trust Incentives

Energy Trust offers the following cash incentives to gas customers for energy-efficient insulation installations:

Custom incentives may be available.

  • Insulation incentives not listed may still be eligible for custom incentives up to 50 percent of the incremental cost between standard and high-efficiency equipment, not to exceed $0.25/kWh or $2.00/therm saved.

Energy Trust provides cash incentives to Oregon businesses for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. To qualify, you must:

  • Be served by Portland General Electric, Pacific Power and contribute to the public purpose charge, or served by NW Natural or Cascade Natural Gas on an eligible rate schedule. Check your bill or contact us if you have questions.
  • Have a project site in Oregon.
  • Large electric consumers of more than one average megawatt or 8,760,000 kilowatt hours a year are subject to the Energy Trust Self-Direct Policy. Program services are limited and restrictions apply to self-directing consumers. Please refer to the Self-Direction FAQ or contact us for additional details.

Energy Trust offers cash incentives for both standard and custom projects, as well as solar projects.

Projects that feature standard equipment with easy installation can earn standard incentives. Qualifying projects can claim up to $1,000,000 per site, per year.

Standard incentive path
It’s easy to qualify, and your contractor may be able to complete the forms.

1. Contact us to discuss your plan.
2. Install your new equipment.
3. Submit Form 420IN (PDF | Excel): Industrial Insulation—Incentive Application, Contractor Invoice(s), and Substitute IRS Form W-9 to the address listed on the form.
4. Receive your check.

Projects that go beyond the standard incentive list may qualify for custom incentives. All custom projects must be pre-approved by Energy Trust.
