Lighting + Lighting Controls

Energy-efficient lighting can illuminate a whole new world of cost savings and enhance the work environment or guest experience. Lighting upgrades are the best—and often, the easiest—first step in any energy-efficiency program and can pay back your investment cost through energy savings in as little as two years or less. Energy Trust offers cash incentives for lighting and lighting control projects.

Energy Trust Incentives

Energy Trust offers incentives for a variety of lighting fixtures and controls—all standard and custom lighting projects must be pre-approved by Energy Trust. Incentives for standard lighting projects may be available for up to 50 percent of total eligible project costs, not to exceed $0.20/annual kilowatt hour, kWh, saved. Incentives may also be available for the installation of custom lighting equipment for up to 35 percent of the total approved installed cost. All custom equipment must individually pass a cost-effectiveness test.

Energy Trust provides cash incentives to Oregon businesses for energy efficiency and renewable power projects. To qualify, you must:

  • Be served by Portland General Electric or Pacific Power and contribute to the public purpose charge.* Check your bill or contact us if you have questions.
  • Have a project site in Oregon.

* Large electric consumers of more than one average megawatt or 8,760,000 kilowatt hours a year are subject to the Energy Trust Self-Direct Policy. Program services are limited and restrictions apply to self-directing consumers. Please refer to the Self-Direction FAQ or contact us for additional details.

It’s easy to qualify, and your contractor will provide and assist you with the necessary forms.
