But with Energy Trust assistance, you can reduce operating costs through a variety of energy-efficiency projects and, in turn, devote more funds to classroom instruction and extracurricular activities. We work with Oregon school districts and education service districts to identify, plan and implement projects that save energy, lower operating expenses, improve student, faculty and staff comfort and contribute to a more sustainable future.
If you're with a public K-12 school, your first best step is to access your district's public purpose funds through the Oregon Department of Energy. These funds are available for energy-efficiency improvements in existing instructional buildings. They can also be used for energy audits, investments to save electricity, natural gas, fuel oil or propane or to replace metal halide or mercury vapor light fixtures.
