There’s one way to be sure you’re making an energy-smart fridge or freezer purchase: Just look for the blue ENERGY STAR® label when you shop—and look to Energy Trust for $50 cash back on qualified models.

ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators must be rated to consume at least 20 percent less energy than allowed by the 2001 U.S. Department of Energy standard for refrigerators of the same type. ENERGY STAR qualified freezers must be rated to consume at least 10 percent less energy than allowed by the 2001 U.S. Department of Energy standard for freezers of the same type. While all ENERGY STAR qualified models are efficient and help you save money on energy costs, premium- efficiency models will help you save even more.

Energy Trust Incentives

Purchase an ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator or freezer and receive a $50 cash incentive.

Incentive offer is subject to availability of funding and may change.

Tax Credit

Many models qualify for an Oregon Residential Energy Tax Credit of up to $90. See the Oregon Department of Energy for details.

Other Rebates

Low-income homeowners in Oregon may qualify for the state's Appliance Rebate Program.  Visit the Oregon Housing and Community Services website for details.

You must be an Oregon residential customer of Portland General Electric or Pacific Power.

Follow these easy steps to redeem your cash incentive on an ENERGY STAR qualified appliance purchase:

1: Establish your eligibility.

2: Choose a qualified high-efficiency refrigerator or freezer. Choose a qualified high-efficiency refrigerator or freezer. View tips on how to choose.

3: Find a participating retailer and make your purchase between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2010.

4: Apply online and then submit your sales receipt—postmarked no later than April 15, 2011 by
