No-Cost Improvements

Mobile home improvements available at no cost

Energy Trust offers free energy-saving services for residents of mobile homes that are not on a permanent, attached foundation. An Energy Trust contractor can complete the following improvements for you at no cost, if applicable:

  • Lighting—installation of up to five compact fluorescent light bulbs
  • High-performance faucet aerators—up to two per bathroom and one in the kitchen
  • High-performance showerheads—one per bathroom
  • Air leakage test and air sealing
  • Duct leakage test, duct sealing and complex duct repair

Combine these free improvements with no-cost, low-cost ideas to further reduce your energy costs.

Who is eligible?

Oregon customers heating their mobile homes with electricity or gas from Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural or Cascade Natural Gas can participate. If you do not own your mobile home, the property owner or manager must approve the services before an improvement project can begin.

Energy-saving improvements can only be performed one time per home, regardless of new ownership. All improvements must be performed by an Energy Trust trade ally contractor.

How to participate.

Your mobile home must be pre-qualified before the installations can begin. To prequalify your mobile home and receive a list of Energy Trust contractors in your area, call us at 1.866.368.7878.

If you are a renter, talk to the owner of the mobile home unit or property about the benefits of making energy-saving improvements.

After these improvements have been made to your home, Energy Trust may contact you to schedule a quality control inspection. The inspection will ensure the work has been completed to program specifications and that your home is now saving energy.

Make additional improvements and receive cash-back incentives.

Incentives are paid directly to the owner of the mobile home. If you rent your mobile home, incentives will be paid to the mobile home property manager. If you’re interested in making additional improvements to your home, view a list of qualifying improvements.
