Incentive offer is subject to availability of funding and may change. Incentives are paid only for materials, not labor. An Energy Trust quality control inspection is required to receive an incentive.
Installation Guidelines
To properly install your high-efficiency electric water heater, please follow the manufacturer's manual. We inspect self-installed improvements prior to incentive payment. Self-installed improvements do not qualify for low-interest financing.
Note 1: Heat pump water heaters are not eligible for this incentive; contact Energy Trust for additional heat pump water heater opportunities.
Oregon customers heating their water with electricity from Portland General Electric or Pacific Power can participate.
Oregon homes that heat with oil, propane, kerosene, butane or wood can conduct their own energy audit and apply for cash rebates for installed weatherization upgrades through the Oregon Department of Energy's SHOW (State Home Oil Weatherization) program.
Energy Trust does not pay incentives for energy-efficient improvements that are mandated for building code compliance, such as remodeling, renovation or new additions to the home.
Follow these easy steps to get cash for installing a high-efficiency water heater in your home:
1: Qualify for pre-approval.
Contact us toll free at 1.866.368.7878 to receive pre-approval on your work.
2: Install your electric water heater according to manufacturer specifications. Remember to consult your manufacturer's installation and instruction guide.
3: Sign and submit your incentive application within 90 days of installation.

4: Complete a post-installation verification.
When we receive your form, we will call you to schedule a quality control verification. Self-installed improvements are verified prior to incentive payment.
