Contractor Eligibility

For Solar Program

In order to receive Energy Trust solar incentives, solar projects must be completed by approved Energy Trust solar trade ally contractors. Energy Trust has two programs that focus on active solar technologies: solar water heating (which includes solar pool heating) and solar electric. Contractors who wish to become trade allies in both areas must go through training and become approved for both technologies.

Contractors wishing to become trade allies in either solar program must:

• Have an active Construction Contractors Board (CCB) license
• Meet the basic eligibility requirements described in the Trade Ally Application Materials (PDF)
• Complete and submit the Trade Ally Initial Application and appropriate Solar Electric and/or Solar Water Heating program addendum(s)
• Participate in the mandatory solar trade ally training (see Training Requirements)
• Obtain Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) Tax Credit Technician certification (required for contractor providing residential solar services)
