Don't miss out on 2009 incentives
As 2009 comes to a close and you begin preparations for 2010, Energy Trust's New Homes team would like to make sure you are aware of some year-end deadlines.
- Marketing funds
If you are applying for cooperative marketing funds or model home incentives all paperwork and supporting documentation must be received no later than December 15, 2009. We will continue to offer marketing support in 2010.
- New residential lighting
If you are applying for the New Residential Lighting Package incentive, all paperwork and applicable receipts must be received no later than December 31, 2009. This program is only offered for homes permitted in 2008 and will no longer be offered in 2010.
Duct testing reminder
When performing a duct test, remember to indicate the correct fan pressure on the performance testing sticker. There is a difference between duct pressure and fan pressure. Duct pressure in all new home duct tests is 50 Pascals, while fan pressure varies with flow rate and ring size. Upon indicating the CFM50 duct leakage, also indicate fan pressure by switching the manometer to PR/PR and recording the pressure displayed on the right side of the manometer. Energy Trust New Homes cross references the CFM50 leakage, fan pressure and ring size to confirm the results of a duct test.
Energy Performance Score helps builder sell home
A recent article in The Register-Guard highlights the sale of a newly constructed home and how the EPS played a large role in the purchasing decision of the homebuyers. "The EPS was extremely helpful in alleviating any concerns the homebuyers had about energy costs," said the builder Dave Cady, Performance Homes, LLC.
