Find a contractor by zip code

You've probably noticed that the trade ally search on the website no longer includes a search by "region." To make the search more customer friendly, we mapped Oregon zip codes to our trade ally service regions.

Now a customer only needs to enter a zip code to find trade allies serving that particular service region (for instance, entering a Portland zip code of 97201 returns a list of all trade allies who serve Region 3). Some trade allies who have physical locations outside the region may appear in any search, but they are companies who indicated they serve the region in question.

Search results always start out randomized, so all trade allies with a desired specialty serving the customer's region have an equal chance of being at the top of the list. However, the results can also be alphabetized by clicking on the word "company" at the top of the list of results.

In 2010, we'll consider additional geographical enhancements to the search that could allow the customer to sort the list of trade allies by distance from their zip code. The Find a Contractor search function is located on the home page of the Energy Trust website.
