New appliance incentive applications due

As the year comes to a close, remind your customers that if they purchased a new appliance in 2009 they have until April 15, 2010, to submit their incentive applications. Early submittal is recommended to ensure faster incentive processing.

Customers can apply online using our quick and easy electronic form or they can download a blank incentive application from the Energy Trust website to mail to the program.

At the end of the month, program field representatives will visit your retail locations to deliver 2010 program applications and replace outdated marketing materials such as clothes washer clings and refrigerator hang tags. Please feel free to check in with your field representative if you have questions about end-of-year deadlines and processing, need more applications or have questions about next year. Refrigerator/freezer recycling

For the remainder of 2009, the refrigerator and freezer recycling incentive has increased from $30 to $50. If you have a customer purchasing a new fridge or freezer, suggest that they have their old unit scheduled for pick-up before December 31, 2009, in order to qualify for this limited-time offer. In addition to the $50 customer incentive, pick-up is free and your customers have the added benefit of knowing that their old unit isn't sitting in a landfill. The fridge and freezer recycling incentive returns to $30 on January 1, 2010.
