The updated Weatherization Specifications Manual provides the necessary information and clear direction that will make your job easier, as well as increase and ensure the energy efficiency of your customers’ homes.

The following weatherization specifications are only for retrofit weatherization jobs which qualify for Energy Trust of Oregon incentives and are not intended to address new construction or remodeling projects.

Throughout this guide, you will see yellow-highlighted text. This text reflects new specifications and/or language which has been added or amended from the previous version. Quality control reviews will be conducted in accordance with the new specifications.

New weatherization specifications go into effect July 1, 2011, based on the date of installation of the measure(s). A key addition for this year’s version includes the merging of the quality control policies and procedures with this manual, in order provide the information as an additional resource. Please begin to familiarize yourself with these changes and make sure your crews are aware of the changes. Monthly webinar trainings are available to any trade ally company or technician who desires a greater understanding of these specifications. To register for a Weatherization Specifications webinar, visit www.energytrust.org/ta. Quality assurance visits are also available for those who wish to have an inspector onsite as a mentoring or training session (dependent upon program resources). For more information, please contact 1.866.365.3526 option 9, or email existinghomesta@energytrust.org.

Energy Trust’s Existing Homes team will continue to work to ensure the transition to the new manual is as simple as possible for you and your company. Please contact our trade ally team directly at 1.866.365.3526 option 9, or email existinghomesta@energytrust.org with any questions about this guide, or if you would like to request additional copies for $12 each. Copies are available for no charge at www.energytrust.org/ta.

Thank you for your continued participation as an Existing Homes trade ally. Our programs could not exist without your hard work and commitment to providing energy-efficiency services to the community.

Sincerely,

The Trade Ally team
