Our Location

Energy Trust provides for a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The [Insert Position Title] would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.

What We’re Looking For:

The Project Manager – Renewable Energy will work within Energy Trust’s Renewable Energy Sector, which aims to build a vibrant market for clean energy systems while reducing energy burdens for households with lower incomes and supporting energy resilience for Oregon communities. The Project Manager will design, develop, and implement program offerings with a focus on collaborating with Energy Trust’s New Homes and New Buildings programs to integrate solar + storage offerings into the new construction process, support trade ally management, and manage technical assistance and training contracts.

The Project Manager will implement new offerings and enhancements through effective project management. The Project Manager will represent program offerings in public, keep accurate records within organizational business systems and manage contracts with related annual budgets of up to $0.5 million under direction from the Sr. Program Manager. This position will have the authority to set and provide exceptions to certain program guidelines, as needed, to ensure positive customer and trade ally experiences and manage stakeholder relationships.

What You’ll Do:

  • Apply project management best practices to manage time-sensitive tasks, deliverables and reporting related to the development and delivery of program offerings, including stakeholder engagement and new and enhanced program documentation, forms, and processes.
  • Implement strategies to lower market barriers for new clean energy projects and technologies, especially for customers with lower incomes and in racially diverse and rural communities across Oregon.
  • In close collaboration with the respective Program Managers, manage limited portions of Energy Trust’s New Homes and New Buildings program contracts and budgets related to integrating solar + storage offerings into the new construction process ($0.5 to $1.0 million total budget for incentives and delivery scope).
  • Collaborate with other Energy Trust programs to make it easier for customers to participate and find the right solar, storage, and energy efficiency offerings to meet their needs.
  • Develop and improve program offerings for solar trade ally contractors, new building developers, and home builders, including efforts to provide incentives, tools, customer leads, technical assistance, and training.
  • Update and maintain program technical specifications and solar and storage installation standards, incorporating feedback from trade ally contractors and technical experts. Review program marketing and educational materials for technical accuracy.
  • Under the direction of the Sr. Program Manager, manage professional services contracts and related annual budgets of up to $0.5 million total.
  • Collaborate with the program delivery team to manage relationships with trade ally contractors and implement quality management processes.
  • Support customers, trade ally contractors, new building developers, and home builders pursuing renewable energy projects, providing program assistance and problem solving.
  • Present program offerings in public settings.
  • Identify key deliverables and ensure projects and initiatives meet goals.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of project information.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Perform all functions of the job in a safe manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • This position may oversee the work of contractors, suppliers and/or vendors as necessary in the course of managing specific program components and other efforts.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (engineering, architecture, science, technology, or environmental studies preferred) or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in project management, project development, contract management, or program development or implementation.
  • Knowledge of solar and storage design and installation required. Direct experience with solar and storage design or installation preferred.
  • Successful experience working within multidisciplinary teams. Must be able to interact with a diverse workforce and be comfortable working in culturally diverse settings and groups.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Public speaking experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software applications and basic knowledge of SharePoint is preferred.
