Success Story
Emerald Valley Weatherization Inc., Springfield
A family-owned business, Emerald Valley Weatherization helps Lane County residents trim energy costs in their homes by adding insulation, replacing doors and windows, and installing energy-efficient ductless heat pumps. Since 2008, Emerald Valley worked with Energy Trust to weatherize 490 single-family and multifamily homes.
“Energy Trust incentives entice property owners to move forward, particularly the instant incentives because we can reduce a customer’s cost upfront,” said Kristin Mason, owner, who is buying Emerald Valley Weatherization from her mother and stepfather. “Being an Energy Trust trade ally also is helping our business grow. We’ve hired three new employees in the past four years.”
Emerald Valley is just one of Energy Trust’s growing network of 2,400 trade ally contractors and allied professionals who help homeowners, businesses and public and nonprofit entities complete energy projects. In 2016, Energy Trust added 200 new trade allies, 20 real estate allies and five design allies to the network, and provided $382,000 to support trade ally co-branded marketing and advertising.
