Strategies and Synergies: Resilience, Passive Design and Smart Grid Optimization
Evolving electrical grids are creating demand and opportunities for high-performance buildings amidst changing climate conditions. This Building Energy Simulation Forum training will cover critical synergies that are emerging among renewables, energy storage and passive design strategies that take buildings and electrical grids into a reduced carbon future while also supporting resilience.
Whether planning for business continuity or disruptive events, participants will learn about energy load reduction and backup power use possibilities based on Oregon climate analysis.
Join us to reconsider the potential for high-performance buildings.
About the Presenter:
Forest Tanier-Gesner, PE, building performance specialist, PAE
Forest is a talented building performance specialist with a passion for sustainable development, emphasizing the larger roles that designers play in the environments they shape. He takes special interest in climate change and its effect on the built environment. Forest creates energy-efficient, flexible designs, concentrating on passive systems first, with active systems in the background. Forest has a B.S. in Renewable Energy Engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology.
