Lighting and Controls: The 2021 Oregon Energy Efficiency Specialty Code (OEESC)

Join us on June 22 for a free virtual training on the commercial lighting and controls provisions of the 2021 OEESC and earn 1 CCB continuing education credits (CEUs) and 1 AIA learning units (LU).
During this training, attendees will learn about the new conditions in the recently adopted 2021 Oregon Energy Code, based on ASHRAE 90.1-2019, including new lighting power allowances, occupancy sensors and daylight controls. In addition, the training will cover the following topics:
- Commercial provisions of the OEESC, including lighting and controls requirements for typical Oregon buildings.
- How to use LEDs with Luminaire Level Lighting Controls to meet and exceed code.
- How to navigate Energy Trust’s New Buildings Lighting Calculator Tool for code compliance.
About the presenters
Dan Kuhl, LC, senior lighting specialist, Evergreen Consulting Group
Dan is a seasoned lighting specialist with over 25 years of lighting industry experience. He is the former Oregon vice-president of the Illuminating Engineering Society and a current board member. Dan qualified for the Lighting Certified Professional designation from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions. He is also a certified trainer for American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Building Operator Certification.

Nathan Beck has been in the lighting and controls industry since 2005 and specializes in lighting controls systems. Nathan handles the design of and provides quotes and technical support for lighting controls, metering systems, specialty lighting systems, theatrical lighting and controls.
