It's Oregon's Time to Shine
At Energy Trust, our success is measured not only in energy saved or produced but in our positive impact on communities. So, while we’ve saved and generated more than enough energy to power all the homes in the Portland Metro area and heat all the houses in Lane County, we’ve also delivered additional benefits throughout Oregon.
Lower Utility Bills Are Just the Beginning
Over the last twenty years, we’ve demonstrated the power of energy efficiency to lower costs, reduce carbon emissions, stimulate the economy and create resilient communities that are prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead.
Energy-efficient homes are more affordable to own and easier to maintain. Businesses that embrace energy efficiency see improved operations, lower expenses and increased competitiveness. And by generating clean, renewable energy, we reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, ensuring a more sustainable future for generations to come.
We’ve also seen the damaging effects of extreme weather in this region. Through energy efficiency and savings, our customers’ living and work spaces are more comfortable and safe during heat waves and cold snaps. Their buildings are better equipped to withstand wildfires and our communities can bounce back quicker after disaster strikes.
Energy savings and renewable energy also boost Oregon’s economy. We work with Trade Ally contractors and local businesses who employ about 16,600 people, with the vast majority of contractors being small businesses.
Success Stories
We regularly report on our metrics, but numbers are only part of the story. The true measure of success is our work’s impact on individuals in the communities we serve.
