TriMet Powell Garage: Designing and Building the Future of Sustainable Transportation
Energy Trust invites you to an Allies for Efficiency webinar on the recently completed TriMet Powell Garage, a new, ultra-modern facility designed specifically to meet TriMet’s ambitious goals of an all-electric, zero-emission fleet before 2040.
This project met profound energy efficiency and sustainability goals while maintaining uninterrupted operation of the facility amid replacement of nearly all existing structures. The result is a stunning, sustainable and incredibly efficient facility that has set the standard for transit agencies from coast to coast.
Hear from a panel of the design and build professionals that made this project possible, including the TriMet buildings team manager, the project’s architect, engineer representative and commissioning agent, as they share the vision that pushed this project forward and the sustainability strategies that made it come to life. Panelists will discuss the project’s many noteworthy features, including:
- high-efficiency interior and exterior LED lighting,
- high-efficiency heat pumps,
- condensing boilers and DOAS system,
- passive strategies including a water reclamation system in the fuel and wash building,
- rainfall capture system to limit resource consumption.
Learn how all systems were optimized with a combination of early planning and thorough commissioning, and how this long-overdue upgrade posed an opportunity to provide TriMet workers with a safer, healthier and more enjoyable work environment.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from the project team on the TriMet Powell Garage and earn free 1.5 AIA/HSW CEUs pending approval.
