Our vision is clean and affordable energy for everyone. But historically, Energy Trust and the energy industry have not met the needs of certain customers. This includes people experiencing low to moderate incomes, customers living in rural areas, Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) owned businesses, BIPOC contractors and women-owned businesses.
Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan was developed with input from staff, our advisory councils and board members, stakeholders, customers, contractors and community-based organizations. Our plan focuses on engaging communities we have not effectively served in the past, and it includes goals and metrics that will be adjusted based on community feedback received during engagement activities.
Our plan will evolve as we grow and learn.
To reach these goals, we will need transparency, reflection, power sharing and a willingness to adjust. We will apply an equity lens at every touchpoint to ensure our approaches and solutions are equitable.
We strive for transparency, continuous reflection and a willingness to change as we learn. Our previous plans demonstrate these intentions and document the evolution of our work:
