PCC Metro Opportunity Center: A Holistic Approach to Sustainability
Energy Trust of Oregon invites you to a webinar on the new Portland Community College (PCC) Metro Opportunity Center, featuring members of the design and build team and a live virtual tour. Hear from a panel of experts about this exciting project and how it uses sustainability and trauma-informed design to support the community.
Since 1998, the Opportunity Center has worked to support a diverse job-ready workforce by providing customized training, career exploration and educational opportunities. Its new facility is located between the Cully and Concordia neighborhoods in Northeast Portland and is pursuing LEED certification.
The center was built utilizing research in trauma-informed design, and joins critical race theory and spatial theory to examine how people perceive and use space. From natural materials and plenty of daylight, to the highly efficient air-to-water heat pump system, every design choice was made with occupant comfort, health and safety in mind.
We hope you’ll join us for this free webinar to learn more about this community-focused project and earn valuable continuing education credits.
