The Family YMCA of Marion and Polk Counties: Meeting community needs through newly upgraded facilities

Join us to learn from the facility and design team responsible for the newly upgraded Family YMCA of Marion and Polk Counties. Panelists will discuss how the new YMCA building in Salem addresses community needs and share the facilities’ innovative design solutions and energy-efficient upgrades. The newly opened 51,000 square-foot community center has been constructed on the building’s original footprint in downtown Salem and will act as a central hub for the community.

The YMCA is currently strengthening its position to address social issues in Marion and Polk counties with a focus on supporting families and providing services across the entire age spectrum. Many children, families and adults in the community struggle with daily challenges and reaching their full potential. The YMCA is expanding its capacity to address both. Through the expansion of a new facility and program service model, the YMCA will offer a broad range of community support within easy reach of every child, family and adult.

Learn from the project team as they share their approach to meeting the mission of the YMCA with a highly energy-efficient design, including increased daylighting, smart LED design, condensing tank water heaters, and a VRF and DOAS mechanical system. Stay after the panel presentation for an interactive virtual tour of the facilities that showcases these measures and highlights how additional improvements have benefited YMCA members and staff.
