Each year, Energy Trust’s NZELI grant supports architecture and engineering firms by funding 12-week paid internships for students to help with carbon commitment reporting. The 2025 NZELI interns reported on three national commitments for net-zero carbon emissions in the built environment:  

• American Institute of Architects’ AIA 2030 Commitment  
• Carbon Leadership Forum’s MEP 2040 Commitment   
• Structural Engineering Institute’s SE 2050 Commitment
