Whole Building projects incorporate energy modeling to help see a project’s potential. Taking a holistic approach to your building performance may also result in the highest level of cash incentives and savings and lead to the Path to Net Zero. Talk with an Energy Trust outreach manager today to take your first step.
When you approach your project with the entire building in mind, every design feature becomes an opportunity for greater performance. We will work with you throughout the design and construction process to make sure you’re supported and incentivized to set bold targets.
Planning for solar + storage from an early stage is always a bright idea. In addition to energy generation, a smart solar design strategy can help reduce installation costs, ensure your systems are compatible and increase the long-term value of your building.
When it comes to long-term energy savings, choosing the right equipment makes all the difference. We’ll help you navigate all the latest technologies and available options to ensure the chosen equipment works together as a holistic, energy-efficient system, and provide incentives based on your project’s overall energy savings.
To be eligible for Whole Building incentives, your project must:
Early Design Assistance | Get up to $6,500 to offset the cost of an early design charrette (an interactive brainstorming session with all the members of your project team):
|
Solar Early Design Add-On | $500 for including a solar trade ally contractor in your early design meeting |
Solar Development Assistance | Up to $2,500 to determine the solar potential of your building |
Battery Storage Development Assistance | Up to $5,000 for a battery storage feasibility study to see how you might pair battery storage with a new or existing solar installation |
Solar-Ready Design | Up to $15,000 to meet Energy Trust’s solar-ready standards if installing solar panels isn’t possible during construction |
Battery Storage Installation | Up to $15,000 to provide power backup for lighting or other critical items during outages |
Solar Installation | Up to $15,000 to install a solar electric system |
Technical Assistance | 60% of the cost of relevant technical studies, up to $40,000 total. Common studies include:
|
Whole Building Modeled Savings (≥5% energy use reduction compared to a standard building) | $0.25 per kWh and $0.80 per therm |
Path to Net Zero Modeled Savings (≥80% reduction) | $0.40 per kWh and $1.20 per therm |
Energy Metering | Up to 50% of the cost, up to $20,000 total |
Tell us about your project and enroll during the earliest stages to access our full suite of incentives and resources.
Hold an early design meeting and complete any technical analyses or studies that help optimize your project’s design. Incentives to help offset the cost of your project are available throughout the process.
From energy modeling to construction document reviews, your outreach manager will work with you every step of the way to make sure your project is on track for cash incentives.
Your outreach manager will visit the finished site to verify that all planned design features were incorporated. You’ll receive an incentive per therm or kWh of energy savings in your model.
If you’ve installed energy metering equipment that monitors your building’s energy performance, you can receive additional incentives.
