Since the family-owned business opened its doors in 2008, Mahalo Heating and Air Conditioning has been a trade ally contractor, performing roughly 125 Energy Trust projects annually in Douglas County and the coastal areas of Myrtle Point, Coquille, Coos Bay and Bandon. The company offers customers a wide range of heating, ventilation and air conditioning products and services, indoor air quality products and energy-efficient water heating options.

Owners Erin and Tom Gogal Jr. and their 13 staff members enjoy educating clients about energy efficiency resources available, especially Energy Trust’s Savings Within Reach initiative. Savings Within Reach offers enhanced incentives to help moderate-income households save energy and money through energy-efficient home upgrades. Participants are able to finance improvements and pay back low-interest loans through their utility bills, eliminating the need for upfront cash.

“Our community was in great need of a program like Savings Within Reach,” said Erin. “We have been able to provide energy-efficient solutions to homeowners who otherwise would not be able to afford the upgrades.”
