Switch out before you switch on this fall

Energy Trust of Oregon hosts light bulb switch-out day on October 29

WHEN: Thursday, October 29, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE:  The Home Depot, 13700 NW Science Park Drive, Portland, Ore. 97229

WHAT:  This fall, as daylight hours start to dwindle, it’s the perfect time to switch to more energy-efficient lighting to save extra money at home. Today’s LEDs and compact fluorescent light bulbs, CFLs, can light your home with the same warm light as traditional lighting, while using only about one-quarter of the energy.

On October 29, area residents are invited to join Energy Trust of Oregon at The Home Depot (13700 NW Science Park Drive location only) to buy discounted energy-efficient lighting before they switch on their lights for fall.

  • Energy Trust experts will be in the lighting aisle to help customers shop for energy-efficient light bulbs, including how to pick the right color tone, shape, size and technology for any room.
  • Receive a free Buyer’s Guide to Energy-Efficient Lighting with tips and information to find the perfect energy-saving lights for their home.
  • Instant discounts will be available on a wide variety of LEDs and CFLs available for purchase that day.
  • Customers can bring in their old bulbs for recycling.
