Success Story

St. Mary’s School, Medford

Estimated annual savings: 75,000 kWh

The Naumes Fine Arts and Athletic Center at St. Mary’s School in Medford, Oregon is a shining example of the benefits of solar ready design.

The building recently graduated to a full-on solar installation, a process made easier thanks to some careful planning, Energy Trust of Oregon’s solar ready package and the school’s ongoing commitment to renewable energy.

“We knew we wanted to put in solar at the school but for us to pay out of pocket just didn’t pencil out at the time. Solar ready allowed us to keep that door open,” said Chris Johnson, St. Mary’s plant manager.

Flash forward to today and gleaming solar panels line the facility’s rooftop. With cash incentives from Energy Trust, along with a Blue Sky grant from Pacific Power, St. Mary’s was able to complete its solar installation, which now generates an estimated 75,000 kWh annually.
