Modelkit—Flannel Edition: An Open-Source Tool for Modeling the Commercial Building Stock in the Pacific Northwest
- This event has passed.
Join us for a Building Energy Simulation Forum (BESF) presentation on March 8 to learn about Modelkit—Flannel Edition. Learn how the Flannel tool uses the open-source Modelkit framework to automatically generate and run large sets of EnergyPlus simulations. Modelkit combines templates and scripting to create highly efficient and flexible workflows across commercial and residential prototypes, with numerous modeling inputs and built-in energy efficiency measures.
Building on Modelkit, Flannel implements an automation workflow that enables a variety of modeling studies across multiple building types, vintages and climate zones. Tailor-made for the Pacific Northwest, the tool features 18 building types based on the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) commercial prototype models and is calibrated with regional data from the Commercial Building Stock Assessment.
